Still going strong :) and here is my project for week 5. I´m in a Yahoo group - quilting and Ani our leader asked if we would like to have a kind of a challenge for 2012 - that is to make 1 project for each month of the year - and I found it a great opportunity to quilt something for each month of a whole year :) and for January we were to make a sewing machine cover/cozy. Unbelievable I have been wanting to make one for so many years that I though yeah finely I´ll make one :) and here is a layout of my work.

WEEK 4

For week 4 I painted a frame and printed out a "menu" that is I printed the headline - Matseðill - menu - and then the weekdays name and a line.
I put the glass from the frame where it´s supposed to be LOL then the printed paper and the back - now all we have to do is write what we will have for dinner every day :) love how it turned out - what about you? This is all over the internet so that´s where I got this idea. No link because I don´t have one just go brows the net and I´m sure you´ll find one that you like and a tut for it somewhere - that is if you need a tut.

LAYOUT CHALLENGE

Here is a layout I just made - I got this freebie and this challenge at IVORY KEYS DIGITAL DREAMS.
I´m not good at using so much elements - clusters - so I wanted to try it in this challenge. I don´t even like the outcome but I made the challenge LOL LOL so I´m proud of me for doing that LOL

WEEK 3

Still keeping up LOL LOL well common it´s only the start of week 3 - but for this time here is a Layout I made with my work for this week. I had this "box" in my kitchen and always wanted to make it look good. So I got me some fabric and buttons, Mod Podge and some Glue Gun and a glue-stick - for the buttons, then I put some kitchen utensils in it and I like the outcome. Do you like it?

Already done with my project for week 2 - 2012. I had some tiles that I wanted to make into coasters with some Mod Podge and fabric. So I did that to day.

We have had cold weather here in Iceland but I still go for my morning walks with my dogs, I love it even though eats morning I think " oh I´m not going for a walk this morning " then one of my dogs starts whining and that means " lets go for our walk " so I put on my warm cloths and go out. Sometimes I have my camera with me, sometimes I forget, but when I remember I usually take some photos, here are a few I took last weekend in my neighborhood in Reykjavík.

We just got home from a great weekend with some great friends. There were 12 of us, 6 women and 6 men (there husbands LOL ). We rented 2 summerhouses site by site, with outside Jacuzzi´s. PINCUSHIONS

I bought cute stuff the other day and wanted to make some pincushions from the 4 saucers. My first try :) at that kind of craft. I think they turned out fine. What do you think?

The saucers just coasted about 84 cents so I though well if I try to make just one pincushion and it does not turn out fine, I can keep it for myself LOL and make something different from the other 3.

Then I saw this beauty and it only was about 40 cent so I though "I can make this into a beautiful pincushion" but you know what, when I came home and looked at it I though NO WAY I´m just going to have this the first cup in my collection of different cups for use when people come for coffee :) I´v wanted to start collecting cups like this (where there are no two alike) for a very long time, so now I have my # 1

So when I was going to the register and paying for my stuff I saw this beauty and of course I had to take that to - now the thing is am I going to make something or going to keep it ?????? I really think I´ll try to make a pincushion out of it! Now lets hope I can sell these pincushions - I have nothing to do with them all myself.

I love these roses, and if you look closely you can see a drawing that was in this old book I bought and I almost cut it into pieces to make a flower but I´m happy I saw it before the cuter did it´s job LOL LOL

Few weeks ago I bought an old book that I wanted to use for crafting, I found some tutorials on-line about making paper flowers, I really wanted to try making some of them an here is my first attempt - I´m really happy with how easy it was to make these flowers.

I know I´v not been blogging for some time now, but here is a small blog from me :) I want to show you what I´m working on for my bedroom - a bedspread - a crochet one with over 100 pieces of dollies like on the photo. I´v only done about 5 now and I´m in now hurry to do this, so I like to take it with me when I go visit a friend or like to day. A friend came over and asked if I would like to come and sit with her in her garden in the sun, so of course I did and took with me my crochet work. So here is a photo of my first piece. I just really started to crochet so I´m very happy how this is turning out.

Here are two photos, one is off the colored pansies I´v been doing

and the other photo is of some yarn (DMC) I FOUND now that I´m putting all our stuff in boxes because of the move that is coming up sooooooooon. (have no idea where we will me moving too)

This is so soft and so beautiful when crochet, so now I can make SO MANY flowers and tea-color them or even have them white.

This I think was from my mom :) and I love it.

I saw some beautiful pansies on :) I can not find and can not remember the name of the beautiful blog where I saw this - If you know what blog I mean PLEASE comment on this post and let me know- ........ blog and just had to try this (like so many things I see and have to try) I Googled and found this link on how to crochet some tiny pansies. Here are photos of the 7 pansies that I have made (doing some more right after I post this). The white ones are from a very old DMC thread that I´v had for a long time, the purple ones are made from a embroidery thread that I bought in USA 2007 and had not used - thought it would be cool to use it for these tiny sweet pansies.

Well she really is the best so I did what I was asked to do LOL and this is my layout

Journaling: Some memories are stronger then others. Sometimes a memory pops in my mined from when I was around 5 years old and was in the backseat of my mom´s/dad´s car with her and my aunt. My mom was parking the car outside our home at Barugata 29 in Reykjavik, I had difficulty with saying the letter R it always came out aththththt - aththththt - aththththt - rrrrrrr - suddenly I could say RRRRRRR and of course I was saying it the rest of the day. I still remember my happiness and my mom´s smile when I shouted "I CAN SAY R"

So I´v not been doing much work. But I have a project that I´m working on so I´ll post photos here for you too see.

I´m doing a small course with: Digital-Photography-School and this is my first one there. Self Portrait with props. I used an old camera that belongs to my husband. I love taking photographs and thought it would be cool to have an old camera as my prop. I took myself, without the bacground, and copied to another layer in PSE6 then blurred the background and made it a little vintage with an action.

I want to try some FABRIC COLLAGE that is something that I find beautiful, I have this dream of making our bedroom kind of Vintage and I though that if I try on FABRIC COLLAGE with lace and buttons and images I might get the feel of Vintage Craft-making. So I´m going to try even though I´m not sure HOW TO - but after browsing a lot of blogs and looking at some amazingly beautiful FABRIC COLLAGE I think I can do some sort of a small on. She was the one that though me to knit.
I remember me coming home from school - she lived with us - and sit down on the floor beside her chair and she would tell me so many things and teach me so much.

SNOW ON MAY 1ST

Yes we had snow - I think I might be living in the wrong country! I do not absolutely NOT like snow nor do I like COLD weather. So why do I live here???? that´s a big question - my hubby does not want to live anywhere else - so I think I must love him a lot LOL LOL my kid´s (well they are grown but live at home - studying) they want to live somewhere abroad and I´v told them that when they move they have to have a tiny space for me to be with them when it´s too cold here LOL LOL LOL
But just so you can see that I was not lying here are some photos that I took yesterday of the COLD SNOW.

If you look closely at the last photo you can see my white little Chihuahua coming in from the snow through the back door that I could not open more until my hubby had shoveled the snow from the door LOL
But today :) that´s a different story, warm, sun and the snow is melting fast :)
I´m so lucky I have a great friend in Alaska and on skype yesterday she waved the good weather that she had - my way and it really worked. THANK YOU SO MUCH VINKONA

A MORNING WALK AND A NEW BEGINING

I took one of my dogs (the other one did not want to join us LOL ) for a morning walk and had my camera with me, like almost always. :) I did not go for a long walk I´m just trying to get into the walking gear again - going for short walks hopefully every morning (or almost LOL) here are two photos I took this morning after I had played with them in PSE6 and used some Actions. I love how they turned out.

I want to start with 52 Photos - that is 1 photo every week for a year! I´v seen this on many blogs and it looks and feels easier then 365 PY - LOL so I´m going to start this one right here. My first prompt is "NEW BEGINNING" that´s what they do at "Paint The Moon"click to take a look, I´m not sure if I´ll post on "flickr" but I´m going to try to post here on my blog. I´m also trying to work with the Macro setting on my Canon PowerShot camera so these 3 photos were done with that setting this morning.

I´m sitting in bed because it´s cold, windy and raining outside and I do not feel so good. I´m under my warm blanket with one dog at my feet and the other one at my site :) and my hubby resting beside me. The curtains are still drawn down - even though it´s 12.30 in the afternoon - yeah well I should get out of bed again and get dressed, but to do what, I´m not up for a walk this time and I do not have to clean or cook - so why worrie LOL.

My Snowman Table Runner is ready :) this is made from a pattern in the ART TO HEART - EASY DOES IT FOR WINTER. I love that book because it has so many cute snowmen patterns.

I did not finish my work with Kim because of my laptop problems, now I´v solved them ALL by buying myself a brand new MacBook :) :) so I decided to take the Skinny Mini e-Course again in January. Therefore I will not be posting anything from the December Course. Looking forward to start the new one in January.

This is one of five snowman that I´m making for a table runner. I´ll promise I´ll post a photo of the topper when I´m finished with it. I find them really cute. But then I do LOVE snowmen but I do not LOVE the snow.... as many of my friends know. LOL

My work on day 7 at the Skinny Mini e-Course with Kim. I really love what I can do to my photos, and all the things I´m learning at this Course, working on my PSE6 - it´s amazing what tiny little things you can do and make a photo look very different from the original one.

This is the original one ............................................ and this is the one I worked on, if you look closely it´s not just black & white photo, but has a touch of color on the light, can you see it?

Did not do much yesterday, slept almost the whole day because of my knee operation but did do my work today - in bed LOL. Have already posted on flicr, so now I´m going to post it here. We took a walk yesterday with our two little Chihuahua´s in the frost, in the end they were so cold that I took them both and put them in my big parka pocket - if you look closely you can see there heads:) My Nikita is wearing her pink coat, and Frimann is wearing an army green coat, that you can not see.

I did some baking today:) see the photo, these are a very Icelandic - I don´t even have a name for them in English :( but they are sooooooooooooo delicious I wish you could taste them. My mom used to make these all the time, but this is my first time - to do this ALL ALONE - my DD has helped me before but she was not at home this time.

Look what I got last night:) I was attending a meeting with the Icelandic Quilting Association, and we were suppose to bring small Christmas gifts. And this beautiful thing came my way. I´m so happy with it. A cute pouch, with a fat quarter of a cool Christmas fabric and a nice measuring tape - the coolest measuring tape I have right now:)
